Switzerland got “hit” by a long, cold period where temperatures dropped down to a max to -45 degrees at some places. Not this cold, but also -20, we decided that its too cold to have an engagement shooting all outside. Where to go? There a many great places. We chose the Trafo Baden, where on that Sunday morning hardly no other people where. Great for our lovely couple to explore every corner of this great location. We had a lot of fun and ended our engagement session with a nice coffee at the Trafo Restaurant.

Diana und Sacha durfte ich bereits zu einem Schwangerschaftsshooting besuchen. Vorletzte Woche ist die kleine, süsse Julia auf die Welt gekommen und macht das Familienglück perfekt. Diana ist ein Etsy Fan und hat ein paar tolle Accessoires dort bestellt die Julia ausserordentlich gut standen! Die bemalten Holzwürfel mit Julias Namen drauf fand ich eine wunderbare Idee. Noch immer sehr Müde, hat sie den grössten Teil des Shootings verschlafen. Recht hat sie – bei diesen kalten Temperaturen ist es daheim in Decken gemummt auch viel kuscheliger.

I already met Diana and Sacha for their pregnancy shooting – an incredible sympatic couple. 2 weeks ago little Julia was born, and completes the joy of the young family. Diana ordered funny caps and accessoires from Etsy which looked too cute on Julia! I loved the painted wooden cubes, what a wonderful idea. Julia has slept almost the whole shooting through – at these very low temperatures the right descision. Welcome little Julia!

Manchmal braucht es vielleicht etwas Überwindung, den eigenen Geschmack an einer Feier durchzusetzen. Liebe Bräute, habt Mut – es lohnt sich!
Ich liebe Vintage und Shabby chic Artikel, Pastellfarben, Treibholz und alte Schätze, die man auf den Dachböden oder auf Flohmärkten findet. Genauso sollte meine Hochzeitsfeier auch ausgestattet sein. Das die Erwachsenen Freude an den Hochzeitsseifenblasen hatten und die Kleinen vom Wurlizer magisch angezogen wurden, gefiel mir dann aber besonders.
An den meisten Hochzeiten dürfen Rosen auf keinen Fall fehlen, aber meine Lieblingsblume ist die Pfingstrose. Leider ist sie um diese Jahreszeit nicht erhältich, deshalb verzierten die ähnlich aussehenden Ranunkeln unsere Tische. Ranunkeln heissen im englischen übrigens “Buttercups” was ich für einen tollen Namen halte! Als Vasen dienten kleine Kerzenhalter. Auf jedem Tisch stand zudem eine Königsprotea. Protea (auch Zuckerbusch genannt) stammt aus dem südlichen Afrika. Die zartrosa Blätter umschliessen die grosse Blüte und geben ihr ein einzigartiges Gesicht. Die Blätter sind flauschig weich. Die Birchhalter wurden für mich eigens graviert und geben die persönliche Note dazu. Zu finden sind diese auf Etsy – ein wahrer Wunder-online Laden aus den USA.

Its not always easy, to decorate your own personal taste at a wedding; to all fellow brides out there – do it! Its worth!!
I love Vintage and Shabby Chic, pastel colors, thriftwood and old antique treasures, hidden in the attic or on fleamarkets. And exactly this way should be the decoration of my wedding brunch party. I liked the fact that grown-ups were excited about the wedding bubbles, and the small ones loved the big wurlizer musicbox.

Roses are never to be missed on most weddings. They did at ours. My favorite flowers are Peonies, which due to the wintertime were not available. Thats why we choose buttercups instead. Small Vintage candle holders were changed into vases. On each table in the center were a Protea. I love this flower! Not really common in Switzerland this flower grows in South Africa. I love the soft pink, furry, leaves of this flower. It gives it a unique face. The birch sleeves were made from order from Morgan Hill designs via Etsy. A true wonderstore where you truly can get lost. Feel for Marshmallows or Lollipops?

Cupcakes, Cookies & Co * A wedding photographer gets married Part 1

Treppentorten sind out – Cupcakes und Dekotorten sind In! Die Lawine aus den USA für ausgefallenes Hochzeitsgebäck schwappt auch in die Schweiz über und lässt neue, ideenreiche Konditormeister immer zahlreicher im Internet erscheinen. Für unser Schweizer Hochzeitsfest stand von Anfang an fest, dass Cupcakes die ideale Dessertidee sind. In Melanie Demierres “House of Cakes” haben wir die Person gefunden, die unsere Wünsche in die Tat umsetzte und ein Buffet zauberte, dass unsere Gäste kulinarisch wie auch optisch begeisterte. Nur eine Vorgabe hatte ich: im Vintage Stil sollten sie sein, zarte Farben und weiche Formen. Melanie zauberte Leckereien mit Füllungen wie Passionsfrucht, Champagner, Banane und Citrus um nur einige davon zu nennen. Die Hochzeitscookies in Form von Kleider, Anzug und Torten waren jedoch der absolute “Hingucker”. Ein Buffet, dass fast zu schade ist zum anknabbern.

Cupcakes and Cookies are In! This US Trend for beautiful, special Cakes finally arrived in Switzerland and many new bakers are offering their selection nationwide. For our swiss wedding party we wanted Cupcakes on our dessert buffet. In Melanie Demierres – House of cakes we found the right person, who understood immediately what we wanted and created a masterpiece of art! Our guests were absolutely stunned and we are so happy we found her. I had only one “must-have”; the Cupcakes should have been decorated in a vintage style with soft colors and forms. With fillings like passion fruit, champain, banana and citrus were only a few to mention. The wedding cookies in shape of wedding Dress, wedding Suit and Cake were the aboslut highlight! A buffet, almost too nice to eat.

Walliser Liebe in Baden

Their Email with the booking to be their wedding photographer reached me somwhere between Arizona and Colorado. Barbara and Andreas live in the beautiful Valais. Many people spend their winter or summer hiking vacation there. It makes me very happy to photograph their special day in middle of family and friends in such a beautiful mountain sarrounding. They visited me in Baden, to talk about their wedding and take an Engagement shooting for their invitation cards.

I hardly couldnt wait, to meet little Elin and visit her in her new home. Her room is a dream of soft colors, brown, rose and white, with lots of small animal friends. While Partens and photographer were so excited about this sweet little girl, Elin herself slept almost the entire shooting time. No wonder these lucky parents are so deeply in love with their little princess. Welcome little Elin!

Als ich Nadjas Anfrage erhielt, ihre Silverster Hochzeit fotografisch zu begleiten war ich sofort Feuer und Flamme. Wie kann man ein neues Jahr besser damit beginnen, sich gegenseitig das JA Wort zu geben und mit allen Freunden und Verwandten ins 2012 zu feiern? Eine herrliche Idee! Die Braut trug einen wunderschönen, edlen Wintermantel über ihrem traumhaften Kleid, Vater und Sohn glänzten im selben Anzug. Ein wunderschönes Bild, diese junge Familie! Die Familie des Bräutigams kam eigens aus Portugal angereist um mit dem Paar zu feiern und anzustossen. Eine Hochzeit mit viel Liebe, Gefühl und wunderbaren Details. Ich wünsche Nadja, Alberto und dem kleinen Tiago viele wunderschöne Jahre!

When I received Nadjas email to shoot their wedding on New years Eve, I was immediately excited. What a fantastic idea to celebrate your love together with friends and family into 2012! The bride wore above her beautiful dress a wonderful winter coat, just made for a stylish bride. Father and son enjoyed the same outfit. Albertos family travelled from Portugal to celebrate their sons marriage. A wedding with lots of love, feelings and wonderful details. I wish for Nadja, Alberto and tiny Tiago many wonderful years ahead to come!

Pretty in Pink

Ein Teenie-Movie aus den 80ern. Pink. Eine Farbe, die nie wirklich aus der Mode fällt und immer wieder in Modekollektionen erscheint. Grell, dynamisch, stark. Elsa Schiaparelli, eine italienische Modeschöpferin, brachte 1931 Pink als neue Farbe auf den Markt, ebenso wie ein Parfum unter dem Namen »Shocking Pink«. Das Publikum war tatsächlich schockiert, denn von der eher harmlosen Farbe Rosa war nichts mehr übrig.

Wussten Sie, dass Pink

Als weiblich, frisch und jung gilt?
Als Druckfarbe ein beinahe reines Magneta ist?
In der Natur wir sie in Form von Blütenfarben antreffen?
Pink leitet sich aus dem Niederländischen ab, wo es eine rosafarbene Nelkenart namens “Pinck Oogen”, übersetzt “kleine Augen” gab. Pink ist im Niederländischen offenbar auch die Bezeichnung für den kleinen Finger, die sich ebenfalls in Englische übertragen hat (pinky)

Switzerland meets Greece

I havent posted couple shootings in a while. But this one I have to share with you! This couple is so loving, so georgous and so kind, I didnt want to put my camera down and could have go on forever if the low temperatures wouldnt have worked against us. The shooting took place and the beautiful castle and old town of Laupen. The light was perfect and the soap bubbles did the rest It was so wonderful to photograph them. They are gettting married in Switzerland and on the beautiful Island of Santorini, Greece. What a fairy tale! What more can you wish for your dream wedding?
