I call myself lucky, in many different ways. One of them is my third visit to Britain within 12 months, with mostely sunshine. It was our second visit to Cornwall, of course together with our lovely Retriever Errol, who loves to drive in the car and feels so much at home close to sea and the fresh breeze. We have this in common. Spring in Cornwall is gorgeous. Not too hot, the hills are blooming yellow, tourist season hasnt started yet, the beaches and Coastal Paths are still empty. Even Cornwall is much closer to London and not as north as Scotland, is seems to be a different part of Britain.
Here is why Cornwall has become a favorite to us (but will not push Scotland from being No 1) :
- They really make the best Ice Cream! Try the Honeycomb and salty Caramel – it’s my favorite and a touch of heaven
- The blue color of the ocean and the green gras are mind relaxing. I can look at it forever
- Their homemade Pie is typical for the region and so delicious (if you catch a good one)
- Cornish people love Dogs. Errol was in heaven! They also have many Dog friendly beaches to play and meet friends
- You can walk almost anywhere. The coastal path takes you around entire Cornwall. You start wherever you want. In between you find lonely beaches, small cafes and lots of friendly walkers.
- They have great Bagels for breakfast 🙂
- Even Cornwall is small, you can stay in an area for a while and discover so many places. It doesn’t get boring
- Cornwall is full of beautiful, tiny Fisher Villages.
- The English are famous for their stunning gardens. They are taking you into an enchanting world.

- Constantine Bay Beach for Dog lovers

The Lost Gardens of Heligan – entrance into a magical world
Whitsand bay lies in the “Forgotten corner of Cornwall”. A 2 mile Dogfriendly Beach, hard to reach with quite a steep walk down the hill, this beach is more quiter than others. This part is very different from the Western Coast, less windy but not less beautiful
Errol found a party of 3 playing soccer. As our Dog is very into ballgames and not shy at all, he named himself the 4 player 🙂

Lyme Regis and the Anemone Graveyard. A really worth stopby when you are in the area on your way to Cornwall. Never seen so many large fossils.

Andrea, Rob shared your site on Cornwall with me. It is stunning. We do not have anything official as of yet, but we are hoping to be in Cornwall early summer. I want to take Dad to a reunion at the orphanage he lived in when he was a child and then spend a solid week in Cornwall. You photos and comments, make me want to do this even more. None of us have been to Cornwall. I know I need to be aware of where we go as Dad can’t really do the climbs or long walks, at least not without sitting a bit. Hopefully we can see you sometime in the future. I hope all is well with you and Adrianne (spelling?).
