Destination Wedding Lake Como, Italy – Part I

Filed in Wedding — August 5, 2019

I had a dream last night.

About a young couple, so fun, so kind and so much in love. Both very handsome – perfect for each other. So much in common. They are not only lovers, they are true friends. They got engaged during a ski trip, very romantic on top of the mountain, and she said yes.  Most of their families and friends lived overseas, so they planned a whole week of wedding celebration in one of the most romantic destinations they dear so much: Italy, Lake Como. With it’s little villages and narrow streets, the beautiful lake and the close swiss mountain view it was the perfect combination.

All met at a cocktail night at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo and celebrated for the days to come. The following day a boat ride was arranged for the whole party to cross the Lake for a traditional, delicous Italian dinner at the Ristonranti Albergo Aurora. Many speaches, laughs and also a few tears fullfilled this beautiful, warm spring night in Italy. You felt it – the love that surrounded this couple and their loved ones was present everywhere.

Their wedding day was truly a fairytale. A princess, getting married to a prince. Hours of preparation and lots of fun prior to the wedding with the bride and her bridemaids, laughs, a toast and singing wedding songs – making ready for that one big day, most of us dream of since we are little girls. The place they had chosen to say yes to each other was an incredible Mansion with beautiful gardens – very private and unique. Everything was perfectly organised. White and green flowers everywhere, a white tent, a carpet and sparklers for the night. The bride and her maids were taken by boat to the ceremony, expected by the most cutest flower girls ever to lead the bride to her husband to be, accompanied by the real sound of violins. This wedding made dreames come true: the ceremony, the reception, the dinner and the following incredible party. The tent was redecorated with thousands of small lights. it felt like dancing directly under the stars. Entering through a alley of sparklers, they cut a wonderful three layer wedding cake. The song of “Soul sister” was the opening of an unforgettable dance party that lastet until early morning. And I am certain that for once they all hoped, time could stand still to enjoy this moment forever.

Lots of new memories were created that night, all beginning with a great love story of two people. So strong, that it will tie them all together. Everyone will remember that week at Lake Como in Italy where Mallory & Travis said yes to each other.

What a wonderful dream I was dreaming … or was I not?
